Marc Eberle<\/strong>\u00a0holds a MA in Film and TV from Royal Holloway,\u00a0University of London. Since January 2011 Marc has produced short films as correspondent for Dutch broadcaster VPRO’s slot METROPOLIS Starting January 2012 Marc has been appointed Artistic Director for DocNet South East Asia, a \u00a0regional training initiative funded by the EU and Goethe Institut with numerous panels, round tables, workshops and a masterclass in Indonesia, The Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar. As part of the project Marc plans, curates and oversees the implementation of ChopShots, the new international Documentary Filmfestival held in Jakarta.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Marc has previously directed documentaries for BBC, HBO, ARTE, NDR, WDR, SWR, BR, MDR, ZDF and Discovery Channel in Oman, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Burma.\u00a0His documentary,\u00a0The most secret place on earth \u2013 The CIA\u2019s covert<\/em>\u00a0war in Laos<\/em><\/em>\u00a0opened in German cinemas 2009\u00a0and\u00a0has been screened at over fifteen international\u00a0film festivals and\u00a0was nominated for the North German Film Award,\u00a0the History Makers\u2019 Award in New York,\u00a0the Golden Panda at Sichuan\u00a0intl. Filmfestival, China,\u00a0the World Television Award, Banff, Canada.\u00a0So far the film has been sold to 25 countries. His latest film The Cambodian Space Project\u2013Not Easy Rock’n’Roll<\/em> has been sold to 30 countries and was selected for the WHY Foundation’s\u00a0World Stories strand\u00a0free of charge for \u00a0broadcasters from developing countries.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Marc has been living and working in Southeast and South Asia since 2002\u00a0and has extensive knowledge\u00a0about\u00a0regional cultures and local industries.
